Head-on collision in Lake City sends two people to hospital

Two people were taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie after a head-on collision on Monday evening. Police say the accident happened in Girard Township a little before 10 p.m. on Elk Park Road.

According to police, calls came in around 10 p.m. when two cars collided at the 3500 block of Elk Park Road, just south of Lake City proper in northwest Erie County.

Dispatchers were initially told that one person was trapped inside one of the vehicles and that another person was ejected from another vehicle. So far, it has only been reported that two people were taken to the hospital. There has been no word on anyone else involved or the conditions of the man and woman at Hamot.

Head-on collisions that involve the death or serious injury of someone due to recklessly negligent driving most often result in a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit here in Pennsylvania. When accidents like this one occur, it is always advisable to seek out a respected personal injury attorney to obtain sound advice and proper legal counsel. A good car accident lawyer will help you through this difficult process and explain your options to you in a way you can best understand them. He or she will also provide the upfront costs that you need to sustain your case during this process and will not charge a fee until they have recovered compensation for the damages you and your family have incurred.
