Corry, PA man Life-Flighted to UPMC Hamot after collision with tractor trailer

A 19-year-old man from Corry, Pennsylvania had to be Life-Flighted to the hospital after he collided with a commercial tractor trailer late Wednesday evening.

The accident took place where King Road intersects with Route 6/Grand Army of the Republic Highway, just west of Corry, PA, a few minutes before midnight. 

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the 19-year-old Corry man was travelling south on King Road when he pulled into the path of the oncoming tractor trailer. The commercial truck was driven by a 58-year-old man from Ashville, Ohio.

The Corry man had to be freed from his vehicle was taken to UPMC Hamot in Erie via helicopter. The Ashville man suffered from what police say were minor injuries, was treated at the scene, and released upon his own recognizance.

Route 6 remained closed while first responders and clean-up crews cleared the scene of the accident. Police have not yet suggested any foul play and will continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No witnesses were reported when the accident occurred.
