Turbulent charter bus ride leaves woman with permanent injuries

As some point, most Ohio residents will ride on a public or charter bus. Such busses are often used to transport large groups of people to and from events and hotels. While comfortable and economical, there are safety concerns and drawbacks to using commercial vehicles such as buses.

One woman who was riding on a charter bus while attending a conference, learned firsthand how dangerous such vehicles can be. According to a recently filed lawsuit, the woman contends she sustained serious and painful injuries while riding on the charter bus from her hotel to a conference event.

At this time, the bus driver failed to avoid a deep depression in the road on which the bus was traveling. Furthermore, the driver failed to both warn passengers of the depression and slow down when driving over the depression. As a result, the wheels of the bus hit the depression with great force, jolting passengers and causing the plaintiff to be thrown into the air.

She struck her head on the bus ceiling and sustained painful injuries to her head, back and spine. Upon returning home from the conference and seeking medical care for her injuries, the woman was forced to undergo surgery on her back and spine.

She was subsequently forced to take a three-month leave from work and still suffers physical limitations as a result of the bus accident and injuries. She recently filed a lawsuit against the bus company in an effort to recover compensation related to her injuries, lost wages and medical expenses.
