Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach involved in car accident

No one who is driving or a passenger in a motor vehicle is immune from being involved in a crash. This is illustrated in the recent crash involving former Pittsburgh Steelers coach, Bill Cowher. Earlier this week he was involved in a crash with another vehicle in New York City.

Authorities indicate that the incident occurred when a vehicle that was trying to make a turn, ended up cutting him off. That action led to the two vehicles colliding. The force of the impact of Cowher’s car sent the other vehicle off the road. It stopped after hitting scaffolding located nearby.

Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident. This isn’t always the outcome of car accidents however. While in the worst cases a crash leaves individuals dead, in far too many cases individuals involved in an incident such as this one suffer catastrophic injuries to parts of the body including the brain and spine. Such injuries can have long-term ramifications that last for years to come. The lingering effects, which sometimes include pain and paralysis, can be expensive. Combined with likelihood that someone suffering from injuries such as these will not be able to work, financial strain is not uncommon.

The financial strain and pain may lead individuals who have been injured in a car accident to file a personal injury lawsuit to try to secure financial damages. For many who find themselves in pain and unable to work, money received in a successful lawsuit may make a big difference in the quality of life those individuals have.
