Tour bus accident caused by negligent driver

On Sunday afternoon, a tour bus crashed, rolling over in Bedford County, sending twenty-six passengers to hospitals in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Police told reporters that the bus accident happened at around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday afternoon near Black Walnut Farm Road, just near the Pennsylvania/Maryland border. There were no other passenger vehicles involved in the accident; however, several emergency vehicles that were dispatched to the scene crashed due to icy road conditions. None of the emergency vehicles were seriously damaged.

The bus was apparently on its way from Altoona, PA to the Rocky Gap Casino in Cumberland, Maryland. State police say that eleven injured people were taken to Bedford County Hospital and fifteen more were taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in Cumberland. It was reported that no one suffered from serious injuries, but a full report has not yet been given by state officials.

Police say that the 65-year-old driver of the tour bus was driving too fast for the given conditions, causing the accident, and should have known better. The remaining seven uninjured people were questioned at the scene and police are continuing to investigate. It is still unclear if the driver will face any charges.
