Three car pile-up in East Liverpool causes injuries, damages

A woman from Youngstown, Ohio was Life-Flighted via medical helicopter to an area hospital after being involved in a three-vehicle crash along Route 11 in East Liverpool, Ohio. The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Monday morning.

Police have not yet released the identities of all those involved in the accident, but did say that the 27-year-old woman from Youngstown was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries and will be cited for failure to control her vehicle.

There was no word on the other drivers or their passengers as of Tuesday morning, but it appears as if no one was severely injured. Police said that the accident happened between Route 11's Calcutta and East Liverpool exits and that the south bound lane of Route 11 was closed for some time so that the helicopter could land and debris could be cleared.

Witnesses said that rain and wet conditions may have had something to do with the accident, but that the 27-year-old was driving erratically, as though she were in a rush, when the accident happened.

When weather is inclement, please allow yourself a little extra time to get ready in the morning and make your way to work or wherever you may be headed. Accidents such as this one happen all the time because people are late and attempting to navigate traffic unsafely and at the peril of others. Luckily, no one in this accident seems to have been seriously injured; although there was a great deal of property damage done to the vehicles involved. Unfortunately, many other are not so lucky to escape with just a few thousand dollars due in vehicle repairs.
