Woman dies in truck accident in Pennsylvania

It is fairly well known that crashes involving tractor-trailers have the potential to be quite serious. This is due to the fact that they are generally so much larger and heavier than other vehicles travelling on the roads in the state of Pennsylvania. While in some cases a crash involving a truck can lead to severe injuries, in other cases, death is the outcome.

No one is prepared for the sudden and unexpected loss of life that sometimes occurs as a result of a car accident. When it does happen, loved ones of the individual who died may be unsure how to move forward. Sadly, the family of one woman is likely dealing with this after a truck accident that occurred recently in the Pittsburgh area, on Interstate 79.

The incident included a total of three vehicles. Besides a tractor-trailer, a box truck and car were also involved.

According to law enforcement officers, the crash was started in motion when something caused the woman driving the car to lose control of it. In the course of trying to regain control of it, a box truck struck it. That same truck then struck the semi.

One of the vehicles, ended up under the tractor trailer, which crushed it. Though it is not clear which vehicle that was, because the woman in the car died at the accident scene, it is possible that it was her car beneath the truck. She was 69-years-old. It is not clear if any of the other individuals involved in the crash were hurt.

When a truck is involved in an accident a thorough investigation is launched. Whether the tractor-trailer involved in this incident had anything to do with the accident’s outcome, remains to be seen.
