Drivers who encounter motor vehicle malfunctions while driving are often advised to pull their vehicle over to the far right shoulder and engage the vehicle's emergency flash lights while awaiting help. In cases where a vehicle encounters trouble while attempting to avoid an animal or debris a driver may not be able to pull over to the right shoulder. One such recent accident involving two commercial vehicles left one man suffering severe and painful injuries.

The accident occurred as a truck driver was driving his semi-tractor trailer down an interstate. Upon doing so, he encountered a deer on the highway. While attempting to avoid hitting the deer, the man's truck overturned, partially blocking the highway's left lane. While other semi drivers stopped their trucks to assist the truck driver, the driver of a tour bus sped forward, crashing into the overturned truck.

The truck driver, who was in the disabled truck at the time it was hit, suffered multiple injuries as a result of the collision including those to his neck, back and ribs. He recently filed a lawsuti against the tour bus driver in which he asserts the bus driver was negligent in failing to both control his vehicle and avoid a collision. Further more, the lawsuit accuses the bus driver of driving at an excessive speed and operating a motor vehicle without properly working brakes.

The truck driver is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 related to his muliple and painful injuries. Additionally, he seeks compensation related to a loss of function and medical expenses.
