Comedic actor recovering from serious brain injury caused by fall

When one most commonly thinks about situations in which a head injury, such as a concussion, is incurred, it is often in the context of a car accident. As a couple recent stories of brain injuries involving high profile individuals illustrates that this is not always the case. As Hilary Clinton returns to work after a hospital stay due to medical complications connected to a concussion she sustained after fainting, news broke of the brain injury actor Larry Miller suffered this past spring.

The 58-year-old fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. As a result of the fall, he suffered a brain injury that reportedly threatened his life. After spending a month in the hospital in a coma and on life support, he awoke to find he had a lot of work to do.

The brain injury left the actor with problems regarding brain connectivity. As a result he has had to take some time to get back cognitive functions most take for granted. He is now expected to make a full recovery from his injuries and should be back working on his podcast this month.

Additional details regarding the incident that led to the brain injury are not known. When negligence on the part of another is to blame for someone suffering such an injury, it is possible that a personal injury lawsuit could be filed. As this case illustrates recovering from a severe brain injury can take quite some time. During this period, because an individual is unable to work, it is likely medical bills will mount. A civil lawsuit such as this one could help with that debt, amount others.
