Truck turning corner rolls onto car in Ross

The trucking industry is highly regulated by both state and federal governments. These regulations are far reaching and pertain not only to the truck but the driver as well. The idea behind many of the regulations is to make the industry as safe as possible. In addition to regulations concerning truck drivers such as the amount of sleep a driver must get the weight of the load as well as how it is loaded is also addressed.

Unfortunately, while these regulations undoubtedly have an impact on how truck companies and drivers conduct themselves and business, truck accidents still occur. Earlier this month a truck which was transporting food for a home delivery service, fell onto a car as it turned a corner. The early morning accident which occurred in Ross, a community north of Pittsburgh, happened at the intersection of Cemetery Lane and Perrysville Avenue.

According to a police officer who was at the scene, the truck fell on the car that was stopped at a red light, because it was travelling too fast around the corner. Both the driver of the truck as well as the person behind the wheel of the Toyota were injured in the incident. Accordingly, they were transported to Allegheny General Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.

The truck accident is under investigation. Because it was a truck that was involved in the incident, it will be checked over to make sure it was meeting the regulations that are applicable to it.
