Reckless Ohio driver purposefully injures pedestrian

For most Ohio drivers, the thought of hitting a pedestrian is sickening and would leave them shaken and wracked with guilt. However, some people act out of rage and do crazy things when their tempers are ignited.

It is tough to call this case a pedestrian accident as it appears to have happened on purpose. Reportedly, one Ohio man let his temper get the best of him when he deliberately ran his Dodge Durango off of the road, onto the sidewalk and intentionally struck a pedestrian. The impact caused the victim to crash through a wooden fence and stop when pinned against a trash can.

Ohio police report that the woman was in great pain when they found her sitting against the trash can and yelling out in anguish. She was transported to a local hospital to tend to her fractures, cuts and bruises.

The perpetrator was tracked down as several witnesses recorded a description of the vehicle and the vehicle's license plates. Reportedly the man has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault under DUI, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence, and trespass by a motor vehicle.

These legal repercussions are not necessarily all that this reckless driver could face. If the victim chooses to pursue a personal injury claim as a means of seeking recompense for her injuries and pain and suffering, he could have to pay some heavy damages as well.
