Motorcyclist injured after impact with truck

"I didn't see them," that is the most common response when a car driver is cited for colliding with a motorcyclist. Although motorcyclists may be hard to see, this is no excuse not for always being alert and on the watch for them. Failing to do so could be deadly.

Recently, Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a crash scene in which a 27-year-old male motorcyclist was struck by a commercial vehicle. The motorcyclist was reportedly transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were likely significant, although no word was reported on the severity of said injuries resulting from the motorcycle accident.

According to state troopers of the Ohio Highway Patrol, the truck driver was cited for driving left of center, so the truck driver appears to be liable in this situation. As such, the motorcyclist could seek recompense for his injuries.

Not only will the motorcyclists recovery time likely be lengthy, meaning he may not be able to return to work, but he may have costly medical expenses as well. Through seeking a personal injury claim, residents in Ohio and elsewhere are in some instances able to receive compensation to cover such expenses as well as any pain and suffering. Whether or not this victim chooses this course of action remains to be determined. Hopefully, he will embark on the path to a full and speedy recovery.
