Two die in boating accident blaze

The father and son were likely out for a leisurely boat ride when things went terribly wrong. The father and son tragically died when something went awry in their boat and it ignited. The exact cause of this boating accident remains unknown and is pending further investigation. This is a tragic reminder for all boating enthusiasts to have a plan in place in the event of an emergency.

As the days lengthen and the temperatures rise, many residents of Ohio are taking advantage of the waterways and going fishing or boating whether on Lake Erie or the Ohio River. While this can be both a relaxing and fun summer past time, the waterways are becoming more heavily trafficked so it is imperative to remember to employ proper safety procedure.

The first thing that authorities are urging residents in Ohio to be aware of is a familiarity with their vessel. Knowing the vessel gives boaters more warning when something is not functioning properly on their craft and could prevent serious injury. Additionally, it is important to take a boating safety course. Safety courses will help lay out the best plan of action in the event of an emergency.

Regarding boating safety, it is crucial to have life jackets not just on board but actually worn while boating. The statistics on people drowning due to boating accidents are consistently and continually indicative that people do not wear life jackets. Often in accidents people are ejected from the boat. In such an even a life jacket would keep the victim a float.

Regardless of the amount of preparation, boating accidents still occur. Sometimes these accidents are the result of other boater's negligence. In such instances there could be cause for compensation.
