Pennsylvania bus driver dies after parking lot accident

Unfortunately, fatal accidents occur all too often while residents of western Pennsylvania are at work. As is illustrated in the variety of incidents we have written about in this blog, these accidents take many different forms. One of the most common types of work accidents that result in death are accidents that involve motor vehicles.

Earlier this week a school bus driver was killed when she was hit by another car in her employer's parking lot. The incident occurred just before 7:00 a.m., as a coworker was arriving at work. At the time, the man was in his own vehicle. The parking lot in which the accident occurred was outside of a bus garage located in Centerville Borough.

The woman sustained head injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. Sadly, it was there that she succumbed to her injuries later that day.

The 64-year-old woman had been employed by Impiccini Bus Lines since 1985.

The accident is under investigation by the state police. Should they find that the man in his car was negligent and caused the accident, a wrongful death lawsuit may be initiated by her family members. While there is little loved ones can do when someone is unexpectedly lost in an accident like this, they can seek financial compensation from the party responsible for their loss.

Wrongful death lawsuits can be difficult to navigate emotionally. For this reason it is probably a good idea for anyone in a position to file one to seek assistance from an attorney with experience in these types of matters.
