MTV star killed in Pennsylvania car crash

The star of one of MTV's most controversial and popular shows was killed in a car crash in Pennsylvania over the weekend.

His death serves as an unfortunate reminder that all Pennsylvania drivers need to be safe when they are behind the wheel. People spend so much time in their cars these days it can be difficult to remember that car accidents and accompanying personal injuries can, in fact, happen without a moment's notice.

Ryan Dunn starred alongside Johnny Knoxville and Bam Margera in the MTV series "Jackass," which became infamous for its gross-out daredevil stunts. The car accident occurred as Dunn was traveling down Route 322 in West Goshen Township around 3 a.m. Sunday. He evidently lost control of his Porsche for unknown reasons and flipped over a guardrail. The car then burst into flames. Several Pennsylvania radio shows reported that Dunn's body was so badly burned he had to be identified by his tattoos. A second unidentified man also died in the crash.

Shortly before the accident, Dunn posted a photo of himself and friends drinking to this Twitter account. Police have not commented on the presence of alcohol, but they have said they believe speed was a factor in the accident.

Dunn's death provides a sad reminder that it is all too easy for car accidents to occur, particularly if a driver was drinking, speeding or both. All drivers in Pennsylvania have a duty to behave safely on the roads. Doing so can prevent injuries to themselves and to others.
