A truck accident in Delmont, Pennsylvania, a borough in Westmoreland County, involved at least three vehicles and a tractor-trailer. The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of Route 22 this morning in Delmont. As a result of the accident three total people were taken to the hospital. One victim was life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and another was transported to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, Pennsylvania by ambulance. The truck involved in the accident was overturned onto its side near Cloverleaf Drive in Salem Township. Early reports indicate that one or more of the victims involved in this truck accident were entrapped in their vehicle. Early reports also indicated that there was oil leaked onto the road.
Due to the sheer size and weight of tractor-trailers, often times up to 80,000 pounds, motor vehicle accidents that involve these large trucks often cause severe injuries. After being involved in truck accidents, the trucking companies will act quickly to minimize the amount of money awarded to victims of these devastating accidents. They will send investigators to try to collect statements, try to talk victims out of hiring a lawyer, and frequently delay the claims of injured parties in hopes of frustrating them.
At Dallas W. Hartman, P.C., our team of experienced attorneys will fight for you. We will send our own team of investigators out to preserve evidence, hire teams of trucking experts and accident reconstructionist, and fight to recover the money you deserve as the victim of a truck accident.
