Butler County school bus and tanker truck accident

A truck accident in Butler County, Pennsylvania injured two people this afternoon. A school bus rear ended an empty tanker truck on Route 422 in Summit Township. This tragic accident caused the driver of the bus to be taken by helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the driver of the tanker truck to be taken to Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania via ambulance. Police say neither of their injuries are life-threatening and that the seatbelt likely saved the bus driver's life.

The bus involved in the accident said "Hermitage Schools" on it but according to the Hermitage Superintendent, the bus was being used by another school district. There were four Indiana Area School District students on the bus, none of them were injured. The bus was heading to Hickory High School in Mercer County, Pennsylvania for an orchestra competition when the accident occurred.

Early reports from police investigators state that the tanker was stopped when the accident happened. This has led to further investigation to see if the bus was having mechanical errors.

Mechanical errors in automobiles could lead to a defective products law suit. Mechanical issues could stem from the manufacturing of the automobile and may also stem from improper maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle.
