Dallas W. Hartman employees participate in Habitat for Humanity

This past Saturday, through their Dallas Helps program, Dallas W. Hartman, P.C. employees gave back to the community by participating in Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, Christian organization that builds and repairs houses all over the world for families in need by utilizing donations and volunteer work.

Four employees from Dallas W. Hartman, P.C. teamed up with members of WKBN to help paint and insulate a house that is set to be dedicated to Lizbeth Scott, a resident of Salem, Ohio, her husband, and her 8-year-old daughter later this month. This community service was part of WKBN’s “Caring for our Community” program. As one of the sponsors for this program, Dallas W. Hartman, P.C. participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk on the campus of Youngstown State University, helped create Identi-kits to keep area children safe and will be participating in many more events over the next year in our local community.

The next event in the “Caring for the Community” campaign is WKBN’s Creative Classroom 2014 program. In this program, WKBN asks teachers from all over Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania how they would use $500 to advance education in their classrooms. The teachers then submit their proposals and in December winners will be selected and $500 will be donated to each of the winning teachers.

In addition to WKBN’s “Caring for the Community”, Dallas W. Hartman, P.C. and their Dallas Help program participate in many other types of community service. The Dallas Helps water bottle program has recently given out over 38,000 customized water bottles to local high schools to be sold at various sporting events. Also, in the last year over 9,000 water bottles have been donated to various charitable organizations to either be sold to raise money or to be passed out at their events.
