Another Pennsylvania business has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for matters related to safety standards it maintains in connection with the use of certain chemicals that have been determined to be dangerous. The business, QG LLC , is a printing company. Based in another state, it employs more than 200 individuals at its Pennsylvania location.

The inspection uncovered a total of eight violations of process safety management standards that are deemed to be serious in nature. Accordingly, it is facing proposed fines of $54,000. A violation is considered to be serious when it is possible that a worker could be seriously injured or killed due to a particular hazard that an employer is aware of or should be aware of. As is commonly the case, the inspection was prompted by a complaint from an employee.

It does not appear that any workers were injured at the Pennsylvania business. Had someone suffered an injury while working at the location however, it is possible that he or she could seek benefits via a workers' compensation claim. Depending on the severity of the injury and any lasting effects, the benefits could last for the amount of time it takes for that person to recover enough to get back to work. If the worker is unable to return to work, they could last for a much longer duration. The benefits help to cover lost wages and medical bills.

Whatever the profession Pennsylvania residents are employed as, all would likely agree that safety is paramount.
