On Tuesday evening, a woman who works for Pittsburgh International Airport was hurt in motor vehicle accident, according to an airport spokesperson. The spokesperson said that the victim's job is pulling planes into position with a specialized tow truck. The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. First responders were called immediately and took the woman to North Side's Allegheny General Hospital.

The spokesperson told police and reporters that she is not sure how the accident happened or if it had anything to do with equipment failure, but that the investigation is ongoing and an official statement will be made as soon as possible.

Fortunately, no plane passengers were effected during the accident, and it is not believed that the truck was pulling a plane when it happened. The spokesperson did say that the accident happened nearest to Gate D-79, but could provide no further details at the time.
