Car accidents: Hit-and-run accident suspect arrested in Boardman

Pedestrian accidents and car accidents that involve a hit-and-run suspect can take a particular toll on victims and their families. Most motor vehicle accidents are cut and dry. There is a victim and a suspect and a definitive answer as to why it happened. However, when a hit-and-run accident happens, there are so many questions that need to be answered before the legal proceedings can begin that it can feel as if justice will never be served. If you or someone in your family is the victim of a hit-and-run car accident, call Dallas W. Hartman, P.C. today for a free evaluation of your case.

Boardman police have finally made an arrest in connection with eye-witness accounts of a hit-and-run accident that took place on Monday afternoon. The accident happened at the intersection of Tippecanoe Road and Shields Road at around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Police say they were called to investigate a two-vehicle accident, but that when they arrived only one of the vehicles was still present.

Police told reporters that a driver ran into a telephone pole fled the scene on foot. After questioning residents, one person told police that there was a man hiding behind a house in the neighborhood. When officers eventually found the man, they arrested him and took him into custody, but not before he was taken to the hospital.

A passenger in the other vehicle was injured and treated at the scene. Police have not yet released the names of either the man in custody or the injured passenger from the other vehicle.
